In autumn 2015, Louis Vuitton organised Louis Vuitton Series 3, a fortunate attempt to suggest an alternative manner for presenting a new collection. By means of an art exhibition in London, from September to October, the Parisian brand offered a multi-sensory experience capable of adding extra communication value to the garments presented.
The setting was 180 The Strand, an exhibition location that, over the past years, has found its own renowned space in the British capital city. In this setting, Louis Vuitton has combined the beauty of garments created by Nicolas Ghesquière with artistic elements presented as a tribute to simplicity.
THE ART OF TRANQUILITY
Video art, sculptures, plays of light and settings have conjured up the ideal space for focussing the attention of visitors on the daring garments and accessories of the Maison, which are the real protagonists of the event. The pure white of the areas of the 180 has been amplified by sculptures and mannequins with expressions that are both detached and fascinating. The images appearing in the setting play with the Louis Vitton logo and a short black corridor gives visitors the impression that they are exploring purity from the inside of spaces that suggest calmness and tranquillity.
In the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition, you can see an example of the growing need to create calm places, real decompression chambers compensating for the frantic life of the twenty first century.
A trend that the R&D team of Ceramiche Caesar has examined and described in detail in the Cross Design Magazine 2016/2017, by means of the study of the Peaceful theme.
The tiles of the Layers collection are the outcome of this inspiration: ceramic slabs with pure surfaces that, depending on how you look at them, reveal a complex blend of layers, textures and inspiration materials. The essential aspect of the surfaces is – strangely enough – the result of attentive stylistic research. This becomes evident in the decorations of the collection, which highlight the features of the reference materials.
